'Harry Potter' Star Daniel Radcliffe To Host SNL!
by Kat Rosenfield Set your DVRs, Potterheads: after vanquishing the Dark Lord in the eighth and final film of the HP franchise this summer, Daniel Radcliffe is about to take on the Voldemort of television hosting duties with his very first turn on Saturday Night Live! The actor will take the stage at Rockefeller Center on January 14th, along with musical guest Lana Del Rey, just a few short weeks before his new movie "The Woman In Black" premieres in theaters. Considering Daniel's immense fame, it's a little surprising that he hasn't scored an SNL hosting gig before -- and that means that, for the first time ever, the show's clever crew of writers can have their way with one of the "Harry Potter" cast members. What can we expect from the show? It's anyone's guess, but we're hoping for sketches that showcase Daniel's unique history on stage and screen. For instance... Song-and-Dance After Daniel's starring turn in "How to Succeed in Business" this year, we're expecting him to follow in the footsteps of Christopher Walken with an all-out, fully choreographed singing monologue to start off the show. Scared Straight, Hogwarts-style! Kenan Thompson is often joined by guest hosts in this sketch, where the two play convicts charged with terrifying a group of juvenile delinquents into staying out of trouble. The dementor jokes are writing themselves as we speak. Harry Potter And The Digital Short After all these long years of waiting, it'll be truly devastating if Andy Samberg and co don't jump at this chance to write a slow, sensuous ballad full of wand-related double entendre. Also, LOTS of auto-tune. Got any sketch ideas for Daniel's first turn on SNL? Let us know in the comments section and on Twitter!

New Trailers For Rec 3: Genesis Online
More from Clara's special dayReaders of George RR Martin will recognise the old saying "red-colored-colored wedding", nevertheless the Freys as well as the Starks never quite needed to cope with anything similar to this. The Next instalment inside the Rec franchise,Genesis, is almost here, heralding two new trailers detaiing the carnage at Leticia Dolera's "large dayInch. They're similar, but under the identical. A clip up at Bloody Disgusting might be the British-subtitled version, which produces the premise in the disbursing undead infection, has untidy deaths and jokes, and does a fantastic job of showing this film's breaking-from the series' signature handheld POV to more conventional widescreen style. But it's tame in contrast for the The the spanish language language-language version, up at Shock, which has military intervention and chainsaws.Rec 3: Genesis can be a prequel for the previous two records, completing the trunk-story about how precisely the catholic-zombie-rabies infection "left your buildingInch: the structure in mind apparently being this wedding venue. The actual way it got inside to start with is an additional question. Maybe it absolutely was the seafood mousse. The web link regarding the ongoing because attic inside the apartment building of Rec and Rec 2 also remains to look, nevertheless the series remains so absolutely mad up to now that we'll probably accept anything.Along with these Dolera, the film stars Javier Botet, which is directed by Paco Plaza, who's half of they behind another two. His cohort Jaume Balaguero remains concentrating on Rec 4: Apocalypse concurrently. You'll be able to probably infer where the series is headed. Or really, not likely...No date for Apocalypse yet, but Genesis, no less than in the united states and France, is going in the year.

Analysts' Views on Zynga Stock Differ Ahead of IPO
As part of its business plan Relativity Media has output deals in most countries around the world. One major exception was Germany, until now. On Wednesday, Relativity announced it was entering a joint venture with Senator Entertainment for a distribution output agreement; while also making an investment in Senator. Among the Relativity movies that Senator will distribute are Hunter Killer, Nicholas Sparks' Safe Haven and Afterburn. This agreement means Relativity now has deals for distribution of its movies in every territory in the world with the exception of Japan, Korea and Italy. That allows Relativity to not only assure it will have its movies exploited in each country but also means that it can count on certain minimum guarantees, based on the budget of the movie, which enhances its ability to plan and produce movies. Senator, which has operated in Germany for many years, was recently recapitalized by Sapinda Holding, a global investor based in Amsterdam, that also has offices in London, Berlin and five other countries. According to the announcement, Sapinda, described as a multi-billion dollar fund, may also provide funding to Relativity for other future strategic initiatives as part of the new relationship. "Senator has a long history within the competitive German marketplace. With their new financial commitment from Sapinda, we are optimistic about the future of the business. This new venture is much more than an output deal, it's a long-term strategic partnership," says Relativity's Co-President, Tucker Tooley in a statement. "The relationship sets a new starting point for our company. With Relativity providing its top-of-the-line films to us, Senator will be able to strengthen and expand its position in the German film market on all levels," says Senator CEO Helge Sasse in a statement. Chuck Designers Share A Common Episodes
Chuck Because the spy series Chuck rides off in to the sunset, we grilled cocreators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak for his or her favorite expanded polystyrene. Chuck Versus Father Christmas (Season 2, Episode 11)This episode originates from our two great inspirations: the holidays and Die Hard. We like both of them equally. The storyline line - a hostage crisis within the Buy More - was perfect since it introduced our figures into one place, allowing them to play off one another and take part in the spy action. Nothing causes us to be more happy than seeing Awesome [Ryan McPartlin] and Large Mike [Mark Christopher Lawrence] save your day. Also, the scene where Chuck [Zachary Levi] watches girlfriend Sarah [Yvonne Strahovski] shoot an unarmed Fulcrum agent inside a Christmas-tree lot symbolized a level within their relationship. Chuck was deeply in love with a really harmful spy. Chuck Versus the Colonel (Season 2, Episode 21)Featuring our best set pieces - the environment strike in the abandoned drive-in theater - and 2 in our favorite guest stars: Scott Bakula and Chevrolet Chase. Also it's filled with great moments for the figures: Casey [Adam Baldwin] will get marketed to colonel and tears a radiator in the wall of the motel room Morgan [Joshua Gomez] quits the shop and whisks Anna off to Hawaii. Plus there is Chuck and Sarah getting out of bed in each other peoples arms and... well... there is a nice moment. Obviously, maybe most pivotal of, Awesome discovers that Chuck is really a spy, our first move toward bridging Chuck's two lives. Chuck Versus the Newly-weds on their honeymoon (Season 3, Episode 14)At Chuck, we'd split every season into two parts. Part one may be the original order. The second reason is the "Oh, garbage, they purchased more episodes. How can we handle the large high cliff-hanger in the finish of 13?" This episode was the very first after Chuck and Sarah formally grew to become a few. Now, it's really a dangerous move for just about any show to unite its lead couple you have to prove they will be as entertaining to look at together as once they were looking at one another longingly over the courtyard. We, though, were built with a ace in the hole. Two, really. Zac and Yvonne. Within this episode - a mission on the train outdoors Paris - they demonstrated they might play a kick-ass couple who may be for each other. They are charming and funny and romantic, plus they demonstrated we're able to propel the show in another direction. Chuck Versus Phase 3 (Season 4, Episode 9)Sarah, "The Large Blonde She-Male of Thailand," fights her way with the Thai underworld to be able to save Chuck. This episode is an excellent showcase for Yvonne, who gave her all in probably the most difficult fight moments we have ever done. Amazingly, she's incredibly beautiful throughout. [And] it's her dramatic performance that ties this course of action epic together. She's a lady who'll visit absolutely nothing to save the guy she loves. Han Solo and Lando Calrissian: Best Friends Forever
Oh, publicity photos, sometimes you can be so glorious. Obviously this is a long since forgotten gem of Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams that was shot to promote the release of 'The Empire Strikes Back.' Though, it's really hard to not think of it as a picture of Han Solo and Lando Calrissian -- two longtime friends that will never, ever be separated. Ever! I mean, it's almost upsetting to look at this photo, knowing that Lando will double-cross Han on Bespin. But, if you have ever wondered, You know, Han really did seem to forgive Lando fairly quickly in 'Return of the Jedi'... I mean, being frozen in carbonite for a year is something that I'm not so sure that I could just forgive and forget, let alone lend the guy my ship -- well, that means that you have never seen this picture before. (Also, knowing that the sometimes surly Ford's smile is most likely 100 percent sarcasm makes this even better.) [Photo: Lucasfilm] You can contact Mike Ryan directly on Twitter. Casting Standout: 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close'
Casting Standout: 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close' By Sarah Kuhn November 23, 2011 Photo by Warner Bros. Pictures Casting director Mele Nagler scoured the world trying to find a boy who could believably portray 11-year-old Oskar Schell, the precocious protagonist in "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," adapted from Jonathan Safran Foer's novel. Over the course of the film, Oskar goes through a complex, keenly felt journey, so Nagler and director Stephen Daldry knew they needed an actor who had just the right combination of razor-sharp intellect and emotional availability. "Oskar is smarter than most adults," says Nagler. "He's an astute observer of the world. At the same time, the character is going through a tremendous lossa loss that even your emotionally evolved adult would have a hard time going through. How do you find a child who can access that?"At one point, Nagler recalls, she was getting audition tapes "by the truckload" from places as far-flung as Canada, England, and Australia. In addition to employing the usual casting methods, Nagler says she and the filmmakers tried to think "outside the box." In one of those outside-the-box moments, producer Scott Rudin mentioned that he'd seen a bright youngster named Thomas Horn win "Jeopardy!" during Kids Week the year before. Nagler tracked down Hornwho had never acted beforethrough the show. Horn put himself on tape and was eventually invited to be part of a "boot camp" involving the final set of actors being considered for the role. "It's an idea we stole from Stephen, because it's something that he does with all of his worldwide companies for 'Billy Elliot,' " Nagler says. "We brought them to NY and had them work with Stephen and his team for about a week. That process is pretty grueling."Through that process, the pool was narrowed down to Horn (who was 12 when he first auditioned and is now 14) and one other actor. "Then you take the leap," Nagler says. "Stephen has said this and I now live by this: At a certain point, you have to believe that this is the child and leap with them. It was clear that Thomas is an unbelievably special child, and now we're all at the point where we can't imagine it being anyone else."While Nagler was searching for the perfect Oskar, casting director Ellen Lewis was busy assembling a colorful crew of supporting characters, featuring A-listers Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks as Oskar's parents and beloved character player Zoe Caldwell as Oskar's grandmother. In every instance, Nagler reports, actors responded to the project immediately and with enthusiasm. "It's an amazing script and an amazing story that cannot help but touch someone," she says. "Whether you knew the book or read the screenplay, it was a project you wanted to be involved in."Lewis recalls that she and the filmmakers took "a deep, deep look throughout Europe" for actors, whether known or obscure, to play the pivotal role of a man renting a room from Oskar's grandmother. Ultimately, Max von Sydow won the part. "I had been lucky enough to cast him in 'Shutter Island,' " says Lewis, "so I was familiaras any cinephile would bewith his amazing work."John Goodman, James Gandolfini, and Jeffrey Wright also stepped in as key supporting players, and Viola Davis has a memorable turn as an important woman Oskar meets on his quest. "Scott Rudin had just worked with her in 'Fences,' where she had won a Tony, and was really committed to the idea of her in this role," says Lewis. "It could have gone many different ways, but you just couldn't say no to her in this role."One part of the job Lewis particularly relished was casting "wonderful NY character actors" like Adrian Martinez and Joseph McKenna in smaller supporting parts. Additionally, she enjoyed combing through submissions and seeking out players with various unusual talents. "We always look through every picture we get, really try to work with everybody," she says, "because you never know what you're going to be looking for."For instance, one smaller role required an actor who could play the cello. "There were several wonderful young actresses who played cello," says Lewis, but up-and-comer Jenson Smith ultimately won the part. "You just really get to meet wonderful people during the casting process. I always feel the small roles are what give the fabric and texture to a film. No role is too small, because in a wonderful project like this with a wonderful director, every single person is important. Every face is important."Casting Directors: Ellen Lewis and Mele NaglerDirector: Stephen DaldryWriter: Eric Roth, based on the novel by Jonathan Safran FoerStarring: Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, Thomas Horn, John Goodman, James Gandolfini, Viola Davis, Jeffrey Wright, Max von SydowThe Pitch: A boy (Horn) embarks on a quest through NY City to find the lock that fits a mysterious key left behind by his father, who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11. 'Snow Whitened and also the Huntsman' Trailer: Kristen Stewart's Heart around the Menu for Charlize Theron
Mirror mirror around the wall, who's the fairest of all of them? If "them" is Hollywood's apparently neverending way to obtain Snow Whitened movies, and "fairest" is which has got the most buzz in the given moment, then raise a glass for 'Snow Whitened and also the Huntsman'! The very first trailer for that fantasy epic with Christian Serratos, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron has showed up online, and presents a film rife with action, spectacle, cheesy over-the-top-ness, and heart-eating. Apparently. And also you thought K-Stew might have things simpler after she stopped being Jacob Black! Directed by Rupert Sanders, Universal's 'Snow Whitened and also the Huntsman' comes to theaters next June. Hopefully, Universal Boss Ron Meyer does not later slam the film as "shitty." Access Hollywood Live: Michael Chiarellos Italian Feast Recipes
First Published: November 2, 2011 12:44 PM EDT Credit: Access Hollywood Caption Billy Bush and Kit Hoover with chef Michael Chiarello on Access Hollywood Live on November 2, 2011LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Chef Michael Chiarello chef & owner of Botegga in Napa Valley, and a contestant on Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs on the Food Network, stopped by Access Hollywood Live to share some of his amazing recipes for declicious Italian cuisine! Roasted Butternut Squash and Mushrooms with Burrata (Recipe Courtesy: Michael Chiarellos Bottega Cookbook) Serves 6 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more if needed 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 5 cups 1-inch cubes butternut squash (about 2 1/2 pounds) Brown-Butter Vinaigrette: 6 tablespoons unsalted butter 1 tablespoon minced fresh sage 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar Pinch of sea salt, preferably gray salt, or kosher salt 3 1/2 cups mushrooms, any variety (see cooks note below) 2 shallots, thinly sliced Sea salt, preferably gray salt, and freshly ground black pepper 12 ounces (3 balls) burrata Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Heat a large ovenproof skillet over high heat and add 2 tablespoons of the butter and 2 tablespoons of the olive oil. When the butter foams, add the squash and cook, shaking the pan occasionally, until caramelized and lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Slide the pan into the oven and roast until a deeper brown on the edges, about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, make the vinaigrette: Heat a small saut pan over medium heat, add the butter, and when it foams, brown the sage for just a minute, and then pour in the vinegar and let it reduce by half. Dont stir or touch it. Just keep it at a simmer, gently reducing until thickened. Add the salt when its the consistency of a light syrup. Turn off the heat but leave the pan on the stove while you saut the mushrooms Heat a medium saut pan or skillet over medium-high heat and add the remaining 2 tablespoons butter and the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil. When the butter foams, add the mushrooms and saut until they begin to release their water, about 8 minutes. Add the shallots to the pan and saut until brown, tossing so they cook evenly. Season with salt and pepper and add another 1/2 tablespoon of butter if they look dry. To serve: Divide the squash and the mushrooms evenly among 6 plates. With your hands, tear the burrata into pieces, scattering them over the vegetables. Drizzle with the vinaigrette. Cooks Note: You can use any combination of mushrooms here. I like matsutakes, chanterelles, shiitakes, or morels but use what looks best at the farmers market or in the produce section. ********** Spaghettini Cooked in Zinfandel with Spicy Rapini and Pecorino Romano (Recipe Courtesy: Chef Michael Chiarello, 2011) Serves 4 as main course, or 8 as first course 1 1/2 pounds rapini or broccoli rabe 1 pound spaghettini 1 750-ml red wine, preferably zinfandel 1 tablespoon sugar 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil 2 tablespoons sliced garlic (about 4 medium cloves) 1 teaspoon Calabrian chili paste 1 teaspoon kosher salt or sea salt, preferably gray salt 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1/2 cup grated Pecorino Romano Bring an 8-quart pot of salted water to a boil, cook the rapini for about 3 minutes, and then transfer to a sheet tray and spread it out to cool. Using the same water, cook the spaghettini for half the normal time, stirring occasionally, for 3 to 5 minutes. Youll do the second half of the cooking in the zinfandel. Reserve one cup of the pasta water and then drain the pasta in a colander and set it aside. Return the empty pasta pot to the stove. Youll saut the garlic at the same time that you finish cooking the pasta in wine. Pour the wine and the sugar into the drained pasta pot and boil vigorously over high heat to reduce 50 percent, 8 to 10 minutes. Add the spaghettini to the pot and shake the pot to prevent the pasta from sticking. Gently stir with tongs until coated and boil over high heat, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid is absorbed, about 6 minutes (pasta will be al dente). While the pasta cooks in the wine, heat a large deep skillet until hot. Pour in the olive oil. When the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium-low and add the garlic. Cook until the garlic is pale golden, about 3 minutes. When the garlic is golden, add the chili paste and the blanched rapini to the skillet, add salt and pepper, and cook, stirring occasionally for 1 to 2 minutes. Pour in 1/2 cup of the reserved pasta water. Add the garlic, chili paste, and blanched rapini to the purple spaghettini, toss gently, and transfer onto individual plates or one big platter. Finish with grated pecorino cheese. For more, visit MichaelChiarello.com. Copyright 2011 by NBC Universal, Inc. All rights reserved. The R-Rated 'Breaking Dawn' Sex Scene You'll Never See
Edward and Bella's 'Breaking Dawn' sex scene may be the most anticipated in movie history, right up there with the Natalie Portman/Mila Kunis hook up session from 2010's 'Black Swan.' Summit Entertainment has already offered sneak peeks (!), in both the trailer and cast interviews, but it turns out that the most interesting thing about this moment of copulation may be what's not included. In the latest issue of Glamour UK, Kristen Stewart revealed that the original scene was initially rated R. "It was very surreal. We [originally] got rated R. They re-cut it," she told the British magazine. Of course, now everyone's going to wonder what they left out. To check out what Stewart said about the film's other anticipated moment, the Edward-Bella wedding scene, click on the Glamour link below. For the approximately zero fans who don't know, 'Breaking Dawn Part 1' hits theaters Nov. 18. Oh, we're also giving away tickets to the premiere. Talkback: Which Oscar Contenders Do You Irrationally Refuse to See This Year?
It’s the most wonderful time of year — that calm October blip where Oscar season’s best films are coming up and we dream about how overrated many of them will be. I feel like a little kid again! While this season is far less objectionable than last year’s, I can think of a couple movies I’d normally (and irrationally) resist if it weren’t my job to deal with them. Can you? First of all, I still wish I refused to see I Am Love and Black Swan last year. Hurts to this day. Tilda Swinton’s hormonal yearnings for shellfish and Barbara Hershey’s horrifying love of cake ruined my winter. This year, I’m already dreading J. Edgar. Just too flashy, Oscar-magnetic, and apparently evasive. I actually loved Leo DiCaprio in The Aviator, but he’s really doubling up on his face scrunches and monotone proclamations this time around. It’s the Brood Diamond, y’all. If Albert Nobbs starred anyone other than the mighty she-wolf Glenn Close, I’d want to pass. But now that she’s an underdog in the Best Actress race, I’m particularly excited to see her pull off 19th-century male jauntiness. In retrospect, I refuse to see The Help. Let’s give Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer some statue cred but leave that Easter-colored, happy-clappy morality tale in the dust. What are your movie nuisances this fall/winter?

Hank Williams Jr. Backtracks From Obama-Hitler Comparison
Hank Williams Jr. is retreating from comments he made Monday on Fox News' Fox & Friends comparing President Obama to Adolf Hitler. The singer issued a statement Monday afternoon in which he claims his remarks were "misunderstood." "Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood," he told TMZ. "My analogy was extreme -- but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me -- how ludicrous that pairing was." VIDEO: Hank Williams, Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler on Fox News The singer, talking to hosts Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade live via satellite from Nashville, got into a political discussion in which he called Speaker of the House John Boehner's golf game with President Obama was "one of the biggest political mistakes ever." "It's like Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu," he said. The Fox News anchors seemed taken aback at Williams' comment. Carlson wanted Williams to clarify, saying, "You used the name of one of the most hated people in all the world to describe, I think, the president." "That's true," Williams said. "But I'm telling you like it is." In his statement, Williams said the analogy wasn't appropriate. "They're polar opposites, and it made no sense," he said. "They don't see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the president." VIDEO:ESPN Drops Hank Williams Jr. Opening From 'Monday Night Football' But he did make a plea for change in Washington. "Every time the media brings up the Tea Party, it's painted as racist and extremists -- but there's never a backlash -- no outrage to those comparisons," he said. "Working-class people are hurting -- and it doesn't seem like anybody cares. When both sides are high-fiving it on the ninth hole when everybody else is without a job -- it makes a whole lot of us angry. Something has to change. The policies have to change." After Williams made his comments on Fox & Friends, ESPN said it would drop its traditional Monday Night Footballopening song -- sung by Williams -- for the Indianapolis-Tampa Bay game on Monday. "While Hank Williams Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to Monday Night Football," the network said in a statement. "We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight's telecast." Related Topics Fox News Channel ESPN Monday Night Football

Spin Cycle: Who States Netflix Is Needing to pay DreamWorks Animation $30M Per Picture?
Something always seems to become little strange when Netflix announces large news about itself — now’s unveiling of the streaming deal with DreamWorks Animation is not any exception. What is the news came out to own been handed for the NY Timesithad the initial story additionally to interviews with professionals from both companies. But that’s not the problem: What’s curious is whyThe Occasions felt confident enough to convey that not named “analysts estimate (the sale) might be worth $Thirty Dollars million per picture to DreamWorks.”Although there has been no particulars to assist that estimate, it quickly increased being regarded as as an undeniable fact. For example, a Reuters story pointed out the offer is “worth $Thirty Dollars million per picture to DreamWorks over many years.” When’s true, it’s a sizable deal Cinemax presently pays the studio about $20M per picture. Once the $30M figure for your Netflix deal is accurate, then Caris & Co analyst David Burns states his 2013 earnings estimate for DreamWorks “would therefore improve from $1.58 (per share) to $1.70.” OK, same goes with it true? The companies don’t say: Many several hours following a Occasions story went,Netflix and DreamWorks with each other filed a news release nonetheless “financial the agreement were not revealed.” However, many experts uncover the $30M figure difficult to believe. Susquehana Financial Group’s Vasily Karasyov produces today that “we might be surprised once the terms for (DreamWorks Animation) tend to be favorable than people from the current deal with Cinemax. We feel the alteration in pay TV partners was due to Cinemax shifting from animation and not because (Netflix) offered substantially superior terms.” Janney Capital Areas’ Tony Wible also states that “it appears (DreamWorks)was began out ofHBO which (Netflix)was the client of final option.” This is often nit-picking whether or not this didn’tseem to match Netflix’spattern more than-the-top spinning. Netflix launched merely a bare-bones news release within this summer time to announce news that infuriated clients — the organization was splitting its streaming service within the DVD rental one with techniques which will raise prices by 60% for people who preferred to help keep getting both. That along with the disclosure this month that monthly monthly subscriptions are lower greater than expected sent Netflix stock plunging it’s off 56.5% since mid-This summer time. However, if Boss Reed Hastings recently made a decision to apologize, and release news in regards to the rebranding in the DVD service as “Qwikster,” he managed to get happen in the blog publish — not just a detailed release or SEC filing — departing many traders hungry for particulars. Several experts also chafe in the manner Netflix handles its quarterly earnings calls: Instead of enabling participants to request questions directly, the way a huge the majority of companies do, Netflix requires these to email their queries so a staffer may cause selected ones to Hastings — depriving experts from the opportunity to request follow-ups. Potentially making matters worse, Netflix has told the SEC it desires to stop revealing gross customer additions, churn, and customer acquisition costs. Since clients can join and quit if he or she want, Netflix states that churn “could be seen as adverse business development” even though the business thinks it’s economical — and adds that “investors don't always consider churn an important metric for calculating the performance from the subscription business.” Ultimately that, possibly it shouldn’t be described as a surprise that numerous traders are skeptical about Netflix’s new deal with DreamWorks Animation. “It adds both ammunition to spin for just two stocks that have been lowering,” Wible states. Shares of both companies sprang today, however fell to slightly below their Friday closing prices.Netflix is off 21.7% throughout the final 12 several days while DreamWorks is gloomier 42.9% for your year-extended period.

What A Weekend Brawl! Box Office Shows Moneyball Vs Dolphin Tale For #1, Lion King 3D #3, Abduction Vs Killer Elite #4
FRIDAY6 PM UPDATE: Numbers are shaping up following Rentrak hiccups. There are fierce fights going on at the North American box office for No. 1 and No. 4. These are still very early grosses, and my sources still saySony’s Moneyball starring Brad Pitt will be No. 1 Friday with approx $8M Friday and possibly mid-$20sM for the weekend. That solid number helps Brad Pitt’s awards chances in this well-received male-centric sports movie. But right now Alcon Entertainment is telling everyone that unlessitsDolphin Tale loses to Moneyball by more than a mil today, then the heartstrings-pulling pic should jump 60% on Saturday because of the family film bump and hit $24M and win the weekend.Remember, the maimed mammal is also playing in the most theaters as it looks for $6M today while distributor Warner Bros knew for weeks it wastracking strong.Lionsgate’s Abduction may end uparound $4.5M Friday and what could be mid-teens for the weekend. That may put it behind Disney’s second weekend of Lion King 3D which should also do mid-teens. Then again, I’ve just learned that Taylor Lautner’s $36M-budget action thriller was outspent 4-to-1 in marketing dollars by both Sony and Warner Bros leading up to this weekend. (Shame on Lionsgate’s Jon Feltheimer for tying everyone’s hands even after powerless Alli Shearmur pleaded.)So anyone who claimed this Twilight kid couldn’t open an envelope is wrong: there are major stars who still would be thrilled with that outcome, especially in as rotten a reviewed movie as this one. Lionsgate can’t seem to make a decent movie or market one anymore.I hear that, even though the studio doesn’t deserve it, Lautner is still gettingon a plane and selling the movie overseas for the next 9 days.Remains to be seen if Abduction can edge out Open Road’s Killer Elite whichmay be $5M today, and low teens for the weekend. Frequent updates coming with full analysis. FRIDAY 4 PM: On vacation. So box office is brought to you from a sunny climate where the palm trees sway in time to the dancing trade winds… But back home there’s a fierce fight going on. These are very early grosses, and my sources say Rentrak has been experiencing problems today — thus giving Hollywood even more Maalox moments than usual. Sony’s Moneyball starring Brad Pitt will be No. 1 with approx $8M Friday and possibly mid-$20sM for the weekend. That solid number helps Brad Pitt’s awards chances in this well-received male-centric sports movie. Right now Alcon Entertainment/Warner Bros’ Dolphin Tale and Lionsgate’s Abduction are battling for No. 2 with around $6M today and what could be high teens for the weekend. Interesting, because the heartstrings-pulling pic was tracking much better. Then again, Taylor Lautner’s action thriller is playing in 389 less theaters. So anyone who claimed this Twilight kid couldn’t open an envelope is wrong, wrong, wrong: there are major stars who would be thrilled with that outcome, especially in as rotten a reviewed movie as this one. Open Road’s Killer Elite looks a notch lower – maybe $5M today, and low teens for the weekend. Frequent updates coming with full analysis.Transformers 3 Full Movie

Dandelion Wine Visiting The Screen
Ray Bradbury's book modified.... Though his more sci-fi-focused game titles like the Martian Stories and Fahrenheit 451 have lengthy since been modified for that screen (with new versions planned for tales), legendary author Ray Bradbury's other jobs are still in a position to attract lots of interest. Now his fantastical, whimsical and semi-autobiographical tome Dandelion Wines are being moved via Black Swan producer Mike Medavoy. For individuals who've never see clearly, Dandelion Wine happens throughout the summer time of 1928 in Eco-friendly Town, Illinois. There, youthful Douglas Spalding encounters all of the levels and lows to be youthful and free in small town America. Bradbury is going to be carefully associated with the variation, although the actual film writer is going to be Rodion Nahapetov, that has their own reference to the storyline, getting modified it once before for any video clip. This is actually the best birthday gift I possibly could request for, Bradbury states inside a statement acquired by Variety. Today, I've been reborn! Dandelion Wines are my most deeply personal work and returns reminiscences of sheer pleasure in addition to terror. This is actually the story of me like a youthful boy and also the miracle of the memorable summer time which still holds a mystical energy over me. There is no word on when we'll really see the film at this time. But when it may bottle even a small fraction of the book's miracle, it may be something great...

'The Large Lebowski' Cast Reunion: Giant Bowling Hooks, Drunken Fans and also the Real-Existence Dude
The Dude fanatic is really a identifiable key in movie-geek circles: skilled in the skill of mixing "Caucasians," attired in shorts, sandals along with a robe (though, on special events, he's been recognized to be a huge bowling pin), provided to shouting the saying "Shut the f--k up, Donny!" in the smallest provocation. Such males (they are mostly males) happen to be gathering at something known as Lebowski Fest since 2002, four short years following the film they adore, 'The Large Lebowski,' was launched, to lukewarm reviews and blah box-office. The very first meeting happened in a small bowling alley in Louisville and attracted just 150 peope. Nine years on, it's begun right into a countrywide movement, with occasions happening yearly in metropolitan areas from coast to coast. Even though there has been lots of exciting occurrences through the years (Shaun Bridges, who plays the Dude within the film, switched up in the La Fest in 2005, for instance), 2011 would top all of them. The 2010 convention coincided using the discharge of 'The Large Lebowski' on Blu-ray (free copies which we are offering. To go in, see particulars below), and also to celebrate, the heavens from the movie -- Shaun Bridges, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Julianne Moore, John Turturro -- found New You are able to City's Hammerstein Ballroom to sign up inside a noisy, confusing, but ultimately entertaining Q+A session before almost 2,000 fans. The evening started with arrivals -- this is not on carpeting but on the red-colored rug. To recognition 'Lebowski,' Universal scrapped the standard floor decor used at release parties and rather opted for something which really tied the area together: a red-colored oriental rug, not unlike the one which belonged towards the Dude within the film (incidentally, a gallery from the even are available here). The Dude themself did not last lengthy about the red-colored rug -- he was taken away after an alleged security snafu by having an unmanageable fan -- but John Goodman, who plays Vietnam vet Walter Sobchak, lingered to provide some ideas on why the film has such endurance. "I believe it is the script -- it is the perfect storm of casting, since the plot certainly does not mean anything," he stated. "I suppose people much like to obtain high watching it." Requested what line in the film he listens to most, Goodman stated it had been the eternal "Shut the f--k up, Donnie." Julianne Moore gave a far more surprising response to exactly the same question. "'The Dude abides' is exactly what you hear constantly, but personally, I love, 'I'll suck your c--k for $1,000,'" she stated, laughing. Inside, there have been 100s of costumed 'Lebowski' figures: plenty of Dudes, much more Walters, and something Jesus, filled with bowling ball and shammy. The actual-existence inspiration for that Dude, Shaun Dowd, seemed to be attending. Clark Collis of Entertainment Weekly brought the Q&A, which been successful despite a annoying echo and also the much more annoying shouting from the couple of well-oiled fans. Bridges brought the crowd within an impromptu meditation session, Goodman requested if anybody were built with a VHS copy of 'Logjammin,' the D-level porno proven within the film, and Buscemi were not impressed with the Coen Brothers' decision to (SPOILER ALERT) get rid of his character, Donny. "It's surprising they did that in my experience,Inch he stated, "after being make the wood chipper." (If you do not have that reference, we will not spoil it for you personally by explaining.) Following the Q+A came a screening from the new Blu-ray edition of 'The Large Lebowski.' Drinking on Whitened Russians, the put together Dude fans screamed together with a common lines and cheered whenever Walter stated "f--k." Searching around in the offered-out crowd, it had been tough to think that this movie had made only $17 million in the box office. Eventually, the film found an finish. Regrettably for individuals still attending, there have been no In-and-Out Hamburgers in the region (or, about this coast for your matter) to visit after, so many of them likely went home, took in with a Creedence and given out on the rug. Moviefone's giveaway is open simply to legal citizens from the 50 U . s . States and also the District of Columbia who're 18 and older. Darwin
A Nick Brandestini Films release. Created by Nick Brandestini. Executive producer, Vesna Brandestini. Co-producers, Sandra Ruch, Taylor Segrest. Directed, edited by Nick Brandestini. Compiled by Taylor Segrest. With: Monty Brannigan, Nancy Brannigan, Hank Johnson, Connie Johnson, Ryal Steele, Susan Pimentel, Myriam LeMarchand, Ron Gibson, Kathy Goss, Michael Laemmle, Robin Billings. (British dialogue)Darwin -- an interesting reputation for a town about the edge of extinction. "It was no town to boost kids in," states one resident from the arid Dying Valley enclave, where "whiskey's for drinkin', and water's for fightin' over." With "Darwin," Swiss director Nick Brandestini passionately documents roughly another from the town's dwindling population -- at 35, their number is two less than when he started last year. Exactly the same curiosity that attracted Brandestini has chose to make this niche title a novelty item about the fest circuit, collecting honours because it exposes these hermits around the world. An indication that reads "No services ahead" greets site visitors because they roll into the city, erected to influence nosy outsiders from a location that values its privacy. That did not deter Brandestini, who makes the locals' confidence and will get these phones open on camera. It's really no surprise to locate artists and eccentrics included in this, for example Kathy Goss, too old to become a beatnik, too youthful to become a hippie. Less apparent are Hank and Connie Johnson, who've adopted their very own type of paganism, or their transgendered boy, Ryal. Many have retreated for this remote desert outpost to escape the drugs, violence and commotion from the outdoors world (though Chapman was taken in nearby Barker Ranch) others found find work, when Darwin would be a thriving mining commune. Today, the only real job around is postmaster, and also the others appear to become rethinking their isolationist strategy. Without any chapel, no school with no kids, Darwin includes a local history that survives almost solely within the community's collective memory particulars concerning the late Greville Healey, who legend holds was "apparently a very amazing guy at some point,Inch are amusingly incomplete. Therefore the documentary serves to record a life-style that's evaporating faster compared to water. Attracted towards the dusty community with similar bemused respect numerous European company directors have compensated tumbleweed American cities through the years -- from Wim Wenders' "Paris, Texas" to Emir Kusturica's "Arizona Dream" -- Brandestini works inside a well-established tradition of romanticizing the brand new West. To domestic audiences, Darwin may seem like yet another cent-a-dozen assortment of rusty trailers and empty dreams baking underneath the desert sun. Through " Old World " eyes, however, these misfit figures undertake a particular nobility, celebrated for any proud independence typically mistaken to fail. For your reason, "Darwin" pays quite in a different way abroad of computer does nearer to home, where auds can complete what Brandestini leaves out: While eccentric, these figures are hardly unique and are available scattered through the American Southwest. Simply because Brandestini's camera remains on classic cars, peeling signs along with other mid-century artefacts, that does not mean the city does not watch reality TV and surf the net such as the relaxation of the countrymen. With one feet in our and the other somewhere inside a distant past, Darwin is really a place where laws and regulations don't always apply and also the denizens are very well-armed, climax tough to tell against whom. Instead of eco-friendly grass and whitened picket fences, the gravel lots are marked by septic tanks and assorted bric-a-bracwhile not quite scenic, the austere conditions pack an indisputable poetry as seen through Brandestini's desaturated lens. 'Talihina Sky' Director Says Kings of Leon Will Return to Kick Some Behind (EXCLUSIVE)
With the recent cancellation of the remainder of their U.S. tour due to "vocal issues and exhaustion," a move that could cost them a cool $15 million, it's been quite an interesting week for the family band from Nashville, Tenn., Kings of Leon. It's hard to say what's really going on behind the scenes with the Followill boys these days, but with the upcoming release of their rock doc 'Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon,' we got a chance to speak with director and longtime friend of the band Stephen C. Mitchell to get his take on the whole ordeal and some insight into a band that most of us never get to see. From having Kings of Leon as the stars of his first movie to what the boys are like when they're out of the spotlight, go ahead and check out an exclusive clip from the movie along with our conversation that covered tons of ground about one of the best rockumentaries we've seen in a good long while. Here's an exclusive clip from 'Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon': < Moviefone: So was film something you were always interested in? Because it's such an extensive movie in terms of music as well, was that always something on your horizon? Stephen C. Miller: Well, I say this kind of jokingly to people, but when I was a kid I liked trying to write books at a young age or putting up puppet shows for my cousins and telling people, "I'm gonna makes movies one day!" And you know, who knows what you're saying when you're that age, but when you go back to the root of it, it's probably who you are and what you really want to do. I started in the music business actually -- that's where my background was coming out of college -- and it was never really something I had planned to do, I just kind of stumbled into it, and the next thing you know, years and years go by. Then when the music business downsized, I thought, "Maybe this is the point in my life where if I'm ever gonna go for it, I've got to do it now." So that's when I kind of challenged myself to reinvent myself a bit. And I always had fun filming the boys -- the Kings of Leon -- when I'd first met them, so that's what really got the bug in me back in their mama's garage with the old camcorder out. That's what really stoked my fire I guess you could say. Were there any rock docs or movies in general that you used for inspiration when putting this together? Funny enough, [lead singer, Caleb Followill] and I sat and watched a lot of rock docs, every one that you know of or could think of or could mention in a list. We did it partly to see what was out there and to really understand what people had done in the past and then at the same time really challenge ourselves not to do what everyone else had done. And so a lot of that credit goes to Casey McGrath who produced the film for us and really challenged us to have a unique story design, be super raw with it, and not fall down the line of a typical rock doc, because what's typical about Kings of Leon to start with? Exactly, that's a good way to put it. As far as your history with the band is concerned, this is an incredibly extensive movie in terms of their careers and their lives and capturing it all on camera, and it seemed like you were there from really early on at least. How much of it were you there to film yourself? Just to give you a little historical background, when I had met [drummer, Nathan Followill] and Caleb first, I was living in Nashville, Tennessee and was working at a music publishing company and signed Nathan and Caleb to their initial songwriting deal. They weren't a band or anything at that time, but during that time when they were finding their legs and finding their way, I did get to know them well and know their family well. So all during that era of watching [bass player, Jared Followill] learn the bass, getting [lead guitarist, Matthew Followill] recruited in there and going to my first family reunion with them in 2002 ... this is gonna baffle you, blow you away, but they had all those tapes in a camcorder bag on the first tour and it got stolen and we lost the footage. So it's either in a dumpster and gone forever or it will be on the internet one day. [Laughs] But to answer your question, yeah, I got a chance to know them before they put their band together, so I think I have a pretty good bearing on who they are as people or who their family is. And I think a lot of the reason our friendship that we had developed all through the years and the trust that was there ... I mean, I'm their biggest fan, I jokingly call myself "Kings of Leon Fan Number One" because I got to be in the garage and hear some of those songs for the first time before anyone in the world did. Not to overuse the word again, but that's a bit surreal looking back on that. When did you decide to stop filming and what made you decide to stop filming? It was a combination of things, really. I had stayed friends with them all through their various album cycles and so forth, and there have been some other great people ... you can obviously see some of the footage that we were able to acquire from Patrick Daughters, Doug Biro, the label gave us some stuff, and of course their family loaded me up with an unbelievable amount of VHS footage and rare footage and what have you. But the boys brought me in right before they started recording that 'Only By the Night' album and we were talking about some things -- where they were going and what they wanted to do -- and they asked me, "Would you want to come down and film us while we're making this album?" And of course I was on the first plane down there and dove right in and footage was amazing, it was raw, it was real, it was exactly what they asked me to capture. And the next thing you know, we all just decided we should just pull the trigger on what we've always talked about is that their story would make a great doc film, we just didn't know what the time was to put it out. But the time when we decided it was time to wrap it up, I kind of think once that album took off and was soaring around the world and I got a chance to travel with them everywhere and all over, that thing just got big and I was like, "Okay, we're done, that's it." Because from here on out, people are going to have extreme access and know about these guys now, but everything up to this point, you know, some people in America didn't even care about the band. Yeah, that was the "Use Somebody" album. Yeah, our tour manager Ivan Kushlick said to me one day, "Now that this thing's gone, there's no reason to keep running around jamming cameras in their faces." That's interesting that you say that that was the album that you all decided to wrap it up. There's that one scene in the movie -- I don't know whether it was just a moment of frustration over the direction the band was going in or what -- where they were putting together "Use Somebody" and Caleb says, "This is our last album together." [Laughs] So dramatic right? [Laughs] That was mighty dramatic, but hey, it all got worked out. But by the same token, do you think that played into it whatsoever? No, I just think that's just ... I mean, that was just the beginning of filming, I filmed for another two years after those sessions. Going into early this year, we were still getting into this and that and what have you. I think that it's amazing that Caleb let us show this stuff and be so vulnerable and put it out there like this, but I think that just goes to show you that that's how much he cares, really. He wants to raise the bar and do otherworldly work, and you've got to admire that about the guy, even if it leads to human frustrations like we show on camera. With that being said, how was it for them and their families to watch this, especially with the contrast between their sex- and drug-fueled rock and roll lifestyle and their God-fearing families who were wondering whether their kids are gonna go to Hell or not? Well when I first showed it to the band -- they're the executive producers of the movie, so there isn't one piece of it that they didn't approve or creatively have their hands on -- it's really as much their film as it is Casey's or mine. So all those scenes, you know, it's difficult to show them many of those scenes or encourage them to allow us to use them, and some of that was a battle, that process of, "Here's why you should put yourself out there like this or like that." But I think again, in all due credit to the guys, they're great storytellers, they're very vulnerable in their songwriting, and I think they saw this as another avenue to really reach out to people and say, "Hey, we're not those fashionista rock diva guys, we're just people like you are, too." Yeah, there's this fine line that separates them as good ol' boys and also as rock stars. That's the contrast that makes it such a whirlwind and a bit confusing at times, and I think the family in general has sort of pulled away from that Pentecostal world more or less in these latter years. The family's grown and the band's getting bigger, but their mom's still pretty devout, she gives me a hard time. [Laughs] She's like my second mom, but it's hard to show them as well and many of the family members trusted me and Casey immensely, but they were nervous and rightfully so. So when we did get a chance to show this to mom and dad and uncles, they were ecstatic, now they call it "Our documentary." That's awesome. They're super proud of it, they text me all the time about how much they love it. We immortalized their special family, in particular Uncle Cleo who just passed, too. Oh, man. I'm sorry to hear that. But still, you couldn't have asked for a better reception than that from the family. No kidding. Besides Kings of Leon fans loving this -- which was our goal, obviously -- the family giving me that big thumbs up and that hug and that "Man, you did it and we're just so happy, and we knew you were the person to do this and thank you," it means more to me than to win an Oscar, it really does. To get this opportunity from the family to just open themselves up and to be so involved, I don't take that privilege lightly. That's something else. And like you were saying, they've changed so much over the course of five albums not only in image but also in sound, what was it like watching them evolve from an insider's perspective? Yeah, it's amazing, because in those early years it's all just ... talk about energy. I would just stand in the middle of them in that tiny garage and they would play "Molly's Chambers," and it would just make the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I mean, it's just the energy and that pure force that they were channeling. You know, they had left the church world and had always performed growing up, particularly Nathan and Caleb as well, and I think it was just a matter of, "Okay, now we're out in the real world, where do channel this performance energy?" And once they found their legs and found their sound as Kings of Leon, I've told people before, it's like a rocket ship exploded off a launching pad and it just hasn't stopped since. In light of the scenes where Nathan starts chewing out Caleb on the bus ... [Laughs] And filming him at the same time. Who does that? We did a voiceover commentary the other day and Caleb asked him that, "Who films while they're yelling at somebody?" And Nathan just said, "I'd had enough of you that day and I just figured I'd get the camera out." [Laughs] Well in regards to that and Jared's Twitter feed recently in regards to Caleb ... [Laughs] Yeah, what did he say? I don't even know. Something about how there's more going on the band than just not drinking enough Gatorade. But were you surprised by what happened at the Dallas show last Saturday and their decision to cancel the rest of their tour? Well, I wasn't there at the show and I haven't even had a chance to talk to any of the boys yet. I really probably shouldn't comment on that since I wasn't there and didn't really know what happened. But I will say this about them: they care a lot, they care about their fans really, really hard. It's unfortunate that this has happened, but they're family, they're gonna get through this. They're strong and they want to continue to grow and be a good band, and I think they're tired. You know, it's easy to sit back like an armchair quarterback and say, 'Oh, you should be getting out there and do this or do that,' but they never stop, period. I don't think people understand that about them. From the time we signed them to those initial song-writing deals, then they go and form the band and that rocket ship takes off as I said before, they just haven't stopped. If they're home, they're doing an album or they're doing press interviews, or they're filming this show or they're doing that. I just think that, like all human beings, you reach a point where you're just tired. You can't play a great athlete an entire game, you've got to give 'em a breather. So no question about Kings of Leon coming back from this? Not in my mind. I think they're gonna come back out and kick some people in the ass. What gave you the idea to use The Velvet Underground's "Jesus" when they played that show in Nashville with their family in the crowd? That was our editor Paul Greenhouse who's one of the most talented people in the world. That was amazing. Caleb originally sparked the idea to use outside music because one day on the tour bus he said to me, "I want you to try to use as much non-Kings of Leon music as possible in the documentary." At first I was like, "Well, we are making a documentary about Kings of Leon after all." [Laughs] But once I thought about it, I started understand what he was saying. So we dug deeper and started listening to music that their fathers knew or Grandpa Leon [who the band is named after] ... the bluegrass music, that's their grandpa playing at the beginning of the film. So to answer your question, when we got to that particular scene, which we knew was going to be a special scene in the film, and I was telling Casey and Paul, "I just see this big, epic, slow motion thing with their family and I really want it to land there." And I came to the scene when we were cutting the film one day and Paul pulled up what he was showing me and had that already tempoed in, and I just said, "Paul, geez, don't change a thing." I'm glad [The Velvet Underground] let us use it too, which was very cool of them. Great context for the scene. So what is it that you hope people will take away from this movie? I hope Americans, particularly, will realize that this is their band. Yeah, I agree. I never understood why they blew up in England before they blew up in America. Right! I have people ask me all the time, "Oh, are they from London?" No! They're from the deep South, these are American kids that are coming from the region of America where rock and roll started. That's truly their roots -- in the church and in the deep South -- and I want people to realize that this is a great band. I'm proud of them, I think their greatest days are still ahead, and it would behoove Americans to really take these guys under their wings and make them their own. There aren't really that many successful American rock bands out there right now. They have an amazing body of work in this short first start to their career, and they're pretty neat, special guys with a really special family, and hopefully we're gonna get a lot more special albums out of them too, because I sure want to hear 'em. Same here. So do you have any new projects on the horizon? I do. I don't want to give my cards away or jinx myself just yet, but I'm very excited and interested in sports, doing a documentary about sports, and particularly football is my favorite sport. So I'll leave it at that. Sounds good. Alright, last question: what's your favorite Kings of Leon song? [Laughs] That is a tough one! I'd have to say it's a close call between "Taper Jean Girl," or for whatever reason -- when they play it live I can't get enough of it -- "Knocked Up." If you're putting a gun to my head, I think "Knocked Up." It's an amazing song. 'Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon' can be seen On Demand from Aug. 22 to Sept. 18 and will premiere on Showtime on Aug. 21 at 10 PM. Are you excited to see 'Talihina Sky'?
